This is a GAPS-ified version of this recipe: http://allrecipes.com//Recipe/taqueria-style-tacos---carne-asada/Detail… The original probably tastes completely different, but this had a good taste. :)
3 pounds steak
1/3 c. apple cider vinegar
2 cups white mushrooms
4 large cloves garlic
juice from 2 limes
2 1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. black pepper
1 tsp. white pepper
1 1/2 tsp. oregan
1 1/2 tsp. ground cumin
1 1/2 tsp. paprika
pinch cloves
pinch fennel
pinch coriender
1/2 cup olive oil
Lay the steak in a large glass baking dish. Blend the remaining ingredients together, except for the olive oil, till smooth. Add the oil and blend till combined.
Pour over the steak, and make sure that both sides are coated. Cover the pan, and marinate for 1 to 8 hours.
Cut the marinated steak into strips, and heat a large cast-iron skillet over high heat. Cook (discard excess marinade), stirring constantly, until the meat is cooked through.
